Peerless Manhattan Semi Hollow Body Electric Guitar
1960's Univox Custom
Custom guitar was made in Japan before 1968 as a copy of a Gibson 335. It
is a 2 pickups guitar with a tremolo bar, a three position se;lector switch
and a unique Univox headstock. The fretboard is made of rosewood with large
square MOP inlay and the controls are separate for each pickup with a volume
and a tone control.
Being an extremely
thin acoustic with 2 single coil pickups, this the guitar is kind of thin
sounding when unamplified - when amplified the instrument comes to life.
The tone is very full and pleasant. The neck pickup is a more jazzy one
and the bridge bright is quite bright but whithout excessive high tones.
When both of them are working the output across both pickups is fairly even.
The bridge is not original, it was added later.
isn't perfect but overall , after 40+years, it is still a nicely playing
and collectable instrument.
It comes with
a modern, padded gigbag.
