ARIA 1960’s to 70's Vintage Diamond Series ( Gibson 335 style) Electric Hollow-body Guitar in Sunburst Red!! WOW! -Excellent Condition
This guitar is a piece of history, and is in excellent condition with nary a scratch or nick on her! Action is great. The Red-Sunburst paint is immaculate! It also works when plugged in to an amp and all knobs and switches function as they should. It has white Pearloid pickguard and switch-guard and headstock guard, and a working tremolo with tremolo bar. Truss-rod steel reinforced neck. No visible serial number or tag information. It has long since faded away from the interior label. F-hole style hollow body design for that 60’s 70's sound. This guitar is a great example of the Aria Gibson 335 copy style like it just jumped through 40 years of history in a time warp into your hands. I don’t know if the case is original or not, but it looks it. Tremolo-bar may be original or not. Due to age, this guitar is sold “as is”, but rest assured, she is a beaut! Considering the age the paint is amazing! Check out the photos and my solid feedback. You will love it like I do. This guitar is a Player, not just a looker!! Has a 60's Surf Guitar kind of sound on its own. Good Luck! There is no serial number on this guitar so it could be 60's or early 70's. It does have the Aria diamond (cubic zirconia I think) in the headstock. I couldn't get an exact date on it from local luthier, but lack of serial number indicates earlier model usually (1960's). NOTE: Dating Aria guitars is a mix of fair precision and historical triangulation. The early guitars did not contain serial numbers, so you have to go by the rough historical outlines here. There are no pot codes. In the mid-'70s serial numbers began to be used.
Arai released its first ARIA brand electric guitars in 1963. Exporting to the US followed with models including the 1532T and 1802T.
Historical notes: To counter the decline of the solid body electric guitar boom, Arai released the Aria Diamond series hollow body semi-acoustic guitars. Aria Diamond was named after the imitation diamond inlayed into the headstock. This series lead to the release of the 1202 and 1302 models in 1966 and caused nothing short of a sensation in Japan.
